Having a toastmaster will raise the presentational standard of any wedding or occasion/function. Getting the right one will elevate that experience considerably. The professional toastmaster becomes in part the face and voice of the formal proceedings at your reception.
I've had the pleasure of working with many toastmasters and all have delivered their valuable service, but non quite like the way that Peter Barnes delivers. And, in case you might be wondering can I do without a toastmaster, please bear in mind that many venues today don't greet the bride and groom's arrival, they don't know exactly when to expect arrival; those that do usually staff, the wedding coordinator or occasionally manager serve drinks and go immediately afterwards. Without a toastmaster there would be no official person to greet not only yourselves but also all of your guests.
The toastmaster will also make all the required announcements. Peter Barnes has a very loud and clear voice that can be heard outdoors or over loud chatter indoors. A toastmaster will look the part and will make good photograph and video opportunities. Guests will feel that they have the privilege of attending a better class of wedding. Toastmaster's like Peter can make off-the-cuff announcements should plans change, the weather changes and can be on hand to call out those requested for photographs.
Peter always advises on the correct and suitable position for the line-up to receive and greet guests to the wedding breakfast. This is discussed in person with Peter before the wedding and will be on hand to ensure all runs smoothly. Names of those passing through the line-up can be called out, so that the those receiving guests will know whom they are about to receive. Peter will also ensure that the line-up flows and doesn't stagnate with guests wishing to discuss their life histories.
Full etiquette is delivered and a rousing applause ensured for the top table speakers. Dedication will be made to those who are dear and departed with a touchingness. This is followed with the cutting of the cake which even has its own ceremony when delivered by an old pro like Peter. By request of the bride and groom, Peter can be available for the evening function, to greet evening reception guests and make announcements and to ensure all are present for the bride and groom's first dance.
