Biography- Jack Jacometti
Jack is a strong proponent of Sustainable Development and the benefits that GTL (& CTL/ BTL) have to offer from an economic, societal and environmental point of view for both producing and consuming governments.
After graduating as a Mechanical Engineer (MSc in Power Generation, including nuclear) from the Technical University Delft, he started as a process engineer in the Netherlands. His career has spanned over four continents in technical, commercial, human resource development and managerial roles. He was involved in the first GTL project at Bintulu in the 1980s and subsequently coal gasification/CTL in China.
After involvement in the development of the Oman LNG project, Jack became responsible for the commercial development of Shell’s GTL and LNG technologies. Currently Jack is responsible for the global development and commercialisation of Shell’s proprietary Gas to Liquids technology; GTL product marketing and related research & development. He is a string advocate for close co-operation between government, automotive and energy industries in shaping a sustainable future.
